Remy Incorporation is proud of its more than a 100 years of history. The corporation was founded by Remy brothers in 1896, who settled in Anderson (Indiana), and started to produce magnetos for vehicles with sparkling engines. In 1994 - after almost 80 years together with General Motors- Delco Remy Incorporation became independent, and its history soon combined with Autovill of Hungary, which was famous of manufacturing automotive electric parts.

Autovill has its own tradition, which is marked up with the following milestones:
1928 Founded by the Robert Bosch GmbH, as commercial representation, customer service office and repair workshop for Hungary
1945 The company was taken over by the Soviet Union as compensation after the World War II.
1952 The Soviet Union gave the company back to the Hungarian state - AUTÓVILL as name of the company introduced
1970 Branch founded in Mezőkövesd - expanding share in production
1995 Autovill privatized by Delco Remy America, start of MT starter production
1998 Name changed to Delco Remy Hungary Co. Ltd.
2000 Name changed to Delco Remy Hungary Llc. Start of SI generator production
2000 Opening of Miskolc remanufacturing plant, enlargement of production area in Mezőkövesd plant
2004 Corporation name changed to Remy Automotive Hungary Llc.
